American Spraytech is an Innovation-Focused Formulator, Customer-Centric Filler and American-Made Manufacturer of aerosol and bag-on-valve spray products for the Personal Care, OTC, and Medical Device industries based in Branchburg, NJ. Since 2003, we have partnered with brands of all sizes to deliver exciting new spray products to their consumers.

Our Story

AST’s journey began in September 2003 when our Executive Chairman, Allen S. Lalwani, and his partners took over an existing aerosol facility in Branchburg, NJ. He enlisted the help of the plant’s original owners, Bill Lueschen and Bob Swiatecki, combining their extensive experience with the incoming team’s energy and enthusiasm. Rather than being just another filler, the vision for the company was to be a strategic, value-added development partner. Thus, the name, “American Spraytech” was chosen to highlight our mission - to innovate new spray technologies that make consumers’ lives more beautiful, more convenient, and more fun. Innovation has been in our DNA from Day One. 

We started with a team of 20 people operating 2 filling lines in a single 25,000 sq ft building. Here’s a snapshot of where we are today:

  • 1981

    PEL Associates founded by Bill Lueschen & Bob Swiatecki

  • 2003

    American Spraytech founded by Allen S. Lalwani

  • 2007

    Bag-on-valve capability added

  • 2010

    Built the Tower Facility, and relocated BOV Line there, while doubling its capacity.

  • 2012

    Third conventional aerosol line added

  • February 2016

    Moved into a dedicated Innovation Center at 200 Meister Ave.

  • June 2016

    Constructed “The Annex,” and commissioned our 4th conventional aerosol line within it

  • 2019

    Commissioned our 5th conventional aerosol line

  • 2020

    Brown Brothers Harriman made a strategic investment in AST’s growth

  • 2021

    Commissioned our 2nd bag-on-valve line, doubling our capacity

  • 2022

    Expanded Finished Goods Staging Warehouse at 200 Meister Ave.

  • 2023

    Acquired the Falcon Safety aerosol facility, with space for 60+ MM units of additional

  • Q1 2024

    Commissioning our 6th conventional aerosol line

  • Q1 2024

    Moving into a new Innovation Center at 104 Meister Ave.

  • Allen S. Lalwani

    FOUNDER & EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN

    Allen operated Drug Emporium franchise stores for 13 years prior to acquiring the facility in 2003. He holds an MBA in Finance from Long Island University.

  • Manav A. Lalwani

    CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

    Manav and his team have spearheaded AST’s drive for innovation since 2010. He holds a Master's in International Strategy & Economics from St. Andrews, Scotland, and a Bachelor's from Princeton.

  • Darren Slywka

    VICE PRESIDENT - FINANCE

    Darren has a degree in Accounting from Hofstra University along with 15+ years of experience, having worked at Vornado Realty Trust and Preferred Freezer Services prior to joining AST in 2016.

  • Nehal Patel

    VICE PRESIDENT - OPERATIONS

    Nehal holds a Master’s in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering with a Specialization in Design & Manufacturing from Illinois Institute of Technology. Prior to joining AST in 2019, he led operations in the Pharmaceutical OTC drug manufacturing industry for 16+ years.

  • Samantha Lachmann

    DIRECTOR OF INNOVATION

    Samantha began her career as a chemist at AST in 2008, and returned to AST after serving as Senior Scientific Liaison to Open Development Corporate at L’Oréal USA for five years. She holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Chemistry from Ramapo College and Seton Hall University.

    SENIOR MANAGER - PURCHASING & PLANNING

    Sohil holds an MBA in Supply Chain from Rutgers Business School and Graduate Certificate in Global Business Management from Humber Business School (Canada). He has over 9 years of experience in Planning, Purchasing and Inventory Management in distribution and manufacturing industry.

    MANAGER - REGULATORY AFFAIRS

    Elma graduated from Kean University, with a degree in Biology, and has over 10 years of experience in Quality Management in the Manufacturing Industry. 

  • Jill Mejias

    MANAGER - PARTNER SEVICE

    Jill's background is in Package Development, Quality, & Customer Service, with over 19 years of experience with Chanel Fragrances & Beauty. Jill holds a Bachelor's in Package Engineering from Rutgers University.
